TIFR Centre for Interdisciplinary Sciences is going to arrange Young Researcher Programme 2017. Candidates who have completed their Ph.D course from a recognized university, are eligible to apply for this research fellowship. TIFR Young Researcher Programme 2017 is a valuable opportunity to those candidates who have obtained Ph.D degree not earlier than two years.

Candidates who meet all eligibility criteria, are advised to apply for TIFR Young Researcher Programme 2017. Candidates need to submit at least three publications along with application form to TIFR TCIS institute. The submission of application for TIFR Fellowship 2017 is available throughout the year, so interested candidates can apply at anytime.

Duration & Schedule of Fellowship:
The duration of TIFR Young Researcher Programme 2017 will be approximately three years.
Candidates must have obtained Ph.D degree in relevant field/discipline from a recognized university.
Candidates must not have gained more than two years’ postdoctoral experience.
TIFR Young Researcher Programme is also for the candidates who are postdoctoral fellows at TCIS and have received one of the following fellowships:
- INSPIRE Faculty Award
- Ramanujan fellowship
- Ramalingaswami Fellowship
- DBT-Wellcome Fellowship
Candidates who have received one of the above fellowships, are deemed to meet eligibility criteria for Young Researcher Programme 2017.

Fellowship Allowance & Other Facilities:
National Funding Agency will provide financial support to candidates if applicable. TIFR Centre for Interdisciplinary Sciences will not provide any financial assistance for research work or salary to candidates.
However, TCIS institute will provide access to existing research infrastructure and an ambience congenial to highly productive research output.
Process of Selection:
Candidates will be selected for Young Researcher Programme on the basis of their academic merits, publications, research proposal and reference letters.
Role of Candidates:
TCIS institute will allot important roles to candidates during Young Researcher Programme 2017 as follows:
- Young Researchers (Candidates) are expected to work independently; collaboration with TCIS faculty members is natural and encouraged.
- Candidates are also expected to take part in the TCIS teaching programme.
