Ministry of External Affairs Internship 2017: The Ministry of External Affairs has recently issued an advertisement about Internship Programme with MEA 2017 on its official website at www.mea.gov.in. The Ministry of External Affairs works on formation of Foreign Policies and its implementation. The candidates will be appointed at MEA for two types of Internship i.e. On-site Internship and Off-site Internship.

The candidates who have completed Graduation, can apply for On-site Internship with MEA and the Under Graduate candidates are eligible to apply for Off-site Internship Programme 2017. The Ministry of External Affairs invites young and dynamic candidates to fill up vacant slots of Interns through Internship with MEA 2017. The candidates who have OCI Card, can also apply for this Internship Programme.

The Ministry of External Affairs desires to arrange Internship Programme at MEA in 2017. There are three departments which are going to appoint the candidates for Internship. The selected candidates are required to work under supervision of Head of Division (HOD), Head of Mission (HOM) and Head of Post (HOP). The candidates can apply for their desired department with Prescribed Application Form for Internship under MEA Headquarters, Indian Missions and Posts before one month of starting of Internship Programme.

Eligibility Criteria:

For Off-site Internship

  • Under Graduate candidates are eligible to apply.

For On-site Internship

  • Graduate Degree passed candidates can apply and
  • candidates who have completed three years completed out of Five Year Integrated Course, can also apply.

  • Indian Missions
  • Indian Posts

Duration of Internship:

The candidates are required to do Internship with MEA for One to Six Months.

Stipend Details:

During the period of Internship, the Ministry of External Affairs will not give any financial remuneration to any candidate. Moreover, the Internship doesn’t give any assurance of permanent employment.

However, the candidates who work at On-site Internship, will be provided logistical support to consider functional requirements.

Process of Selection:

The Selection of candidates will be done by Selection Committee of MEA through Personal Interaction and Verification of Original Documents.

Termination of Internship:

The Ministry of External Affairs has full right to terminate any Intern at anytime without any reason and prior notice.

Certificate of Internship:

Ministry of External Affairs will give Certificate of Internship to the candidates who will successful complete the Internship with MEA.

List of Documents to Enclose with Application Form for MEA Headquarters:

  1. Duly filled in Application Form.
  2. Copy of at least three documentary proofs of identity which should include copy of passport and Aadhaar card in case of Indian nationals and passport. (OCI card and National Identity Card in case of OCI card holders.)
  3. Curriculum Vitae.
  4. Introduction letter from the Head of Institution on the official stationery where the candidate has studied or is studying.
  5. No Objection Certificate (NOC) from University or Institution in case the Internship is to be pursued in parallel with an ongoing course.
  6. Self-attested certificates and transcripts for all the accomplishments mentioned in Paras 8, 9 and 13 of Application Form (educational qualifications, current courses being pursued and projects).

  1. Duly filled in Application Form.
  2. Copy of at least three documentary proofs of identity which should include copy of passport and proof of residence.
  3. Curriculum Vitae.
  4. Introduction letter from the Head of Institution on the official stationery where the candidate has studied or is studying.
  5. No Objection Certificate (NOC) from University or Institution in case the internship is to be pursued in parallel with an ongoing course.
  6. Self-attested certificates and transcripts for all the accomplishments mentioned in Paras 8, 9 and 13 of Application Form (educational qualifications, current courses being pursued and projects undertaken).

How to Apply for Internship with Ministry of External Affairs 2017:

  1. Log on to official website at www.mea.gov.in.
  2. Go to About us section and select the tab Internship with us.
  3. Read all the information given on page and find the Application Form link at bottom of the page.
  4. Click on the link to download Prescribed Application Form and take printout of it.
  5. Fill up the Application Form with necessary details and attach documents as mentioned in above List of Documents.
  6. Send the Application Form to Address of Ministry of External Affairs by Speed Post or Registered Post.

Note:

The candidates applying for MEA Headquarters, should send their Application Form to Joint Secretary (Administration). However, the candidates who are applying for Indian Missions/Posts, are required to send their Application Form to Missions/Posts Address.
