Engineering plays a major role in growth of a nation. The industrial sector of India is completely dependent on Engineering. The Students have two options when they complete 10+2 exam in science stream. They can either go for Medical (if 12th is done with Biology) or Engineering /Technology (if 12th is done with Mathematics). The Students are required to select the Engineering Programme according to their interest and passion. The Joint Entrance Examination is organized every year by Central Board of Secondary Education. Degree Level of Engineering
After completion of Matric (10th Class), the Students can choose Diploma in Engineering, while after 12th Class, they choose Degree in Engineering. The Students can select Bachelor’s Degree (B.E, B.Tech etc.) or Integrated – Dual Degree. The Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is for three to four years, while Integrated Degree is a combination of Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree. The Dual Degree of Engineering has duration of five years. The Students can also get admission to Master’s Degree of two years after passing Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
Disciplines of Engineering
The Students can do Engineering Degree in various disciplines/branches i.e. Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Information Technology etc. There are many universities and technical institutes in India which offer Graduate level and Post Graduate level Engineering Courses in above mentioned disciplines.
